Born near Brzeszcze, a small mining town in Poland. As a child, he grew up in a house close to a railway track, so he would study every detail and function of some aging steam engines as they rolled by. By the age of six, he had drawn hundreds of them. While still in elementary school, he won a nationally televised contest organized by a well-known illustrator and TV personality, yet in victoR's small town, nobody believed it was him, even when they heard his and his town's name on the program. That profound experience reshaped his plans for the future. He decided not to be a railway man maintaining the local tracks.
Years later, victoR graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with an MFA in graphic design. Before emigrating to Canada, he was active as a painter, graphic designer, illustrator, and cartoonist. He also invented designed and sold a few complicated board games. After moving to Toronto, victoR and his wife established a studio of illustration and graphic design. He has illustrated several books for children and his editorial work has appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers, and other publications in Canada, the USA, and Europe. His quirky sense of humor and love for anything outrageous or surreal is evident in everything he does. …victoR loves to explore the nooks and crannies of old Toronto neighborhoods, including all lost rivers. Passionate about music, he is constantly looking for the most natural sound from his two speakers.
