Has anything changed since 1901? We invite you for a trip along the Royal Route through the eyes of a tourist from around 1901. We walk with our imaginary tourist from the Railway Station, through the Barbican, the Florian Gate, Krakow’s Main Market Square, the courtyard of Collegium Maius, along Grodzka Street to Wawel. We show what Krakow looked like around 1901. We use photos from the era (from the last years of the 19th and the first years of the 20th century), which we color (in the program / hence the colors may slightly differ from the actual colors) and we compare them with what the Old Town of Krakow looks like today. We use photos from the era, not only from 1901, because in those days not so many photos were taken, if only due to the weight of the camera, and we care more about reflecting the spirit of a certain era. Historic Cafes in Krakow – Jama Michalika, Noworolski and others… 2022 KRAKÓW Krakow is famous for its cafes. From the first cafe, through art cafes, to the 1950s.
