/ … KRAKÓW Yesterday and Today 1901-2021. Krakow as seen through the eyes of a tourist 100 years ago.
Krakow yesterday, that is in 1901 and Krakow today. What has changed on the most popular route, the Royal Route? Today, every tourist coming to Krakow walks along the Royal Route. Has anything changed since 1901? We invite you for a trip along the Royal Route through the eyes of a tourist from around 1901. We walk with our imaginary tourist from the Railway Station, through the Barbican, the Florian Gate, Krakow’s Main Market Square, the courtyard of Collegium Maius, along Grodzka Street to Wawel. We show what Krakow looked like around 1901. We use photos from the era (from the last years of the 19th and the first years of the 20th century), which we color (in the program / hence the colors may slightly differ from the actual colors) and we compare them with what the Old Town of Krakow looks like today. We use photos from the era, not only from 1901, because in those days not so many photos were taken, if only due to the weight of the camera, and we care more about reflecting the spirit of a certain era. We mention the buildings that no longer exist, the first line of the electric tram, shops, Jama Michalika, signs and events. Krakow yesterday and today 1901-2021. Krakow seen through the eyes of a century-old tourist – this is a film that is especially dear to us, because we ourselves are licensed guides in Krakow. #krakowwczorajidzis #royal route #oldtownokraków #guidepokrakowie

Historic Cafes in Krakow – Jama Michalika, Noworolski and others… 2022 KRAKÓW Krakow is famous for its cafes. From the first cafe, through art cafes, to the 1950s. We tell about moral changes, café novelties and distinguished guests. We tell, among others about cafes such as: Wintera, Bisanza, Schmidt, Paon, Sauera, Esplanada. We visit the Jama Michalika café, the Noworolski café and the Europejski café. We analyze the case of Rio and Redolfi coffee bar. We do not show places less than 50 years old or Piwnica pod Baranami, because this is a topic for a different film. We are not interested in chain cafes that can be found everywhere. The film is about historical cafes with atmosphere and tradition, at least 50 years old. “Historic Cafes in Krakow – Jama Michalika, Noworolski and others” is a film in which we present selected cafes from the past, on the basis of which we tell about the changing lives of Krakow’s inhabitants. We also show which of them still exist today.
