AI weapons can find, select and attack targets with little or no human control. Systems like these are already appearing on battlefields, and there are still no binding international rules that govern them. The UN Secretary General has called for a treaty by the end of 2026. Over two years, journalist Robert Capps followed a small group of people who have done this before.
