Mike Oldfield ‘Tubular Bells’

Taken from the recordings from Mike Oldfield’s Exposed double album and video set, this version of Tubular Bells is released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the album. An unedited take from the original film, this shows Mike and band in all their glory at Wembley Conference Centre on the 1979 tour.

Musical tribute by Xavier Alern, professor of Musicology at the UAB, and Opus One orchestra to composer Mike Oldfield on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the release of his first album “Tubular Bells”. The event, co-produced by the UAB and Opus One, included the collaboration of the ALBA Synchrotron facility in order to create a unique atmosphere combining science and art under an unrivalled setting.
